The curated kitchen: sculptural Japanese trivets

It’s just a wee bit of brass, but in the hands of Japanese craftspeople, it becomes a bit of gorgeously useful sculpture for the kitchen. First up, the simply elegant sand casted 6″ round trivet made in Takaoka, Japan, designed by Oji Masanori, and available at Kaufmann Mercantile. Second up, the 16-point, 7″ Galaxy trivet, also designed by Masanori, available at Muhs Home. So pretty.
